The New Jersey legislature has a huge opportunity to help close the energy gap and expand access to the clean energy economy — and our polling shows that more than 7 in 10 New Jersey residents want them to. We're within reach of the Clean Energy Equity Act becoming law, but your lawmakers need to hear from as many constituents as possible!

The Clean Energy Equity Act will:

  • Use solar power and energy efficiency to reduce energy burdens for low-income households.
  • Develop paid solar and clean energy workforce training programs for individuals from overburdened communities.
  • Require that all new construction in low-income and environmental justice communities be solar-ready.
  • New Jerseyans can't wait any longer for energy justice.

The Clean Energy Equity Act passed the NJ State Senate and was sent to the Assembly in November of 2020, where it's been stalled ever since. These months of delay meant New Jersey's overburdened communities continue to face needlessly high energy bills, paying into an energy grid that is disproportionately polluting their neighborhoods and driving up health-harming pollution.

Email Speaker Craig Coughlin and your Assemblymembers now. Urge them to stand with the 76% of New Jerseyans who are ready for a clean energy economy.
