We have our work cut out for us in 2024. Since our fundraising team puts some serious effort into educating our members and donors (plus folks who offer expert advice on charitable donations) about what we call “smarter giving,” we’d like to offer this summary of SMARTER tips we’ve shared over the past year to help guide or inspire your year-end giving for Clean Water.

Manoomin, referred to as wild rice in English, is a sacred food and traditional dietary staple to the Anishinaabe nations Indigenous to the Great Lakes. Manoomin is understood as “the food that grows on the water,” and once had a widespread presence.

Over the past two years, Clean Water Action has campaigned for the state of Maryland to give more support to schools to compost and rescue usable food – and at long last, that support is now available!
