13 Planned NJ Frack Gas Projects Trump Murphy Clean Energy Plan

New report finds 30% spike in greenhouse gas emissions, law requires 80% cut. Coalition urges moratorium until protections in place to deal with climate crisis.

Trenton, NJ--This Wednesday, February 13th, Empower NJ will unveil its compelling report on the climate impacts from the 13 fossil fuel projects currently in various stages of planning and implementation in New Jersey.

The report highlights the previously overlooked combined greenhouse gas emissions from all of these projects and makes a powerful case for a moratorium in order to achieve New Jersey’s renewable energy goals. It describes the major actions needed during the moratorium and provides an analysis of the key economic factors involved in effectively transitioning to a green economy.  The campaign consists of over 50 environmental, citizen, progressive, and faith groups across New Jersey.
