Are you passionate about environmental advocacy and eager to make a meaningful impact? Clean Water Action is seeking a dynamic Elections Intern to join our team in Boston for the Summer of 2024. This is an incredible opportunity to support our campaigns aimed at electing pro-environment candidates across Massachusetts. As an Elections Intern, you'll craft compelling content, conduct research on candidates, engage with campaign staff, and immerse yourself in grassroots activism. Responsibilities
- Writing content for website articles, blog posts, email communications, etc.
- Researching and compiling information about candidates.
- Communicating with campaign staff of candidates to obtain information about the candidate’s position on environmental issues.
- Helping to organize meetings of Clean Water Action’s elections committee.
- Researching and compiling about campaigns, ballot questions, legislator voting records, candidates’ alignment and looking up information on races and districts.
- Administrative tasks as may be assigned such as data entry.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Passion for protecting human health and the environment.
- Strong interest in elections work.
- Solid computer skills (competent in working with Word, Excel, Internet, etc.);
- Strong communication skills.
- Well organized
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong writing skills is a plus.
- Familiarity with campaign organizing in a variety of racial and socio-economic communities, and/or communications is highly desired.
