We can’t protect our health or environment or tackle the climate crisis without a democracy that works for all of us.
Unfortunately, our democracy doesn’t work for everyone. Barriers to the ballot have disenfranchised many people over the years and continue to do so. And new barriers are being thrown up in states across the country. These hurdles to voting disproportionately impact Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, along with the elderly and people with disabilities. Voting is a fundamental right – keeping people from exercising the freedom to vote is outrageous and un-American.
That's why we need Congress to pass the Freedom To Vote Act to protect our freedom to vote and strengthen our democracy.
