Wow. Where has the year gone? I can’t believe the holiday season is here. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life and work – often in a hurry and checking off our to-do lists – we often forget to stop and think about the things we are grateful for.

This season reminds everyone to take a moment to appreciate the people who lift them up, give them hope, and inspire them. Here at Clean Water Action, that’s our members and supporters!

We are thankful you took the time to read our emails and take action. We are thankful for your support and generosity. By simply taking action or making a contribution, you help make a difference and an incredible impact on our organization. Here are just a few examples of how you have helped us to succeed in protecting clean water and creating a healthy future for all:

Wetlands
Water is Life

We mobilized thousands of letters of support for the Clean Water Act of 2023— legislation aimed at reversing much of the damage inflicted by the Sackett v. EPA Supreme Court ruling, which will strip protections from important wetlands, streams and water resources.

Protecting Our Families From Toxic Chemicals

Led the way in banning dangerous PFAS “forever” chemicals across the country including California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island! Minnesota’s strongest-in-the-nation PFAS law is named Amara’s Law in honor of Amara Strande, a young advocate diagnosed with a rare cancer believed to be a result of PFAS contamination. Amara, who testified in support of the bill, passed away in April 2023. We will never stop fighting Amara’s fight.

Environmental Justice

Advocating for full replacement of all lead service lines to get the lead out of our drinking water once and for all. EPA has proposed new Safe Drinking Water Act revisions crucial for Environmental Justice, as lead exposure disproportionately affects low-income and minority communities. This is supported by $15 billion from the Biden-Harris administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Plastic Pollution

Initiated a major expansion of our ReThink Disposable program to eliminate single-use plastic pollution. By working closely with businesses and consumers, we advanced new bans, phase-outs, and “zero waste” and “producer take-back” policies aimed at tackling the most harmful products and practices.

None of our success would be possible without you! You are truly making a difference, and Clean Water Action values your support tremendously. We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to supporting a non-profit, and we are so grateful to have you on our side!
