By Bob Wendelgass, President & CEO Because it does! This election is one of the most important in recent memory for people who care about the environment. On the one hand, we have an incumbent President with a great record on the environment.  A President who has taken action to cut the pollution that is making our kids sick, to create new “green jobs” and to save consumers money.  On the other side, we have a challenger who made a joke about climate change in his acceptance speech, who promises to roll back initiatives to increase gas mileage for cars and to cut mercury releases from power plants. Who we elect matters.  It matters to the kid with asthma that is triggered by air pollution.  It matters to the angler who can’t eat the fish he or she catches.  It matters to the mother-to-be who is worried about exposing her unborn child to toxic chemicals in everyday household products. Take that concern with you into the voting booth, and help us elect a President—and legislators—who will protect our environment and our health.  Your vote matters…make it count!
