Bob Wendelgass, Clean Water Action President and CEO released the following statement:

"The Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy of criminally prosecuting anyone crossing the southern border, including those seeking asylum, has lead to a humanitarian crisis. Families are fleeing dangerous and grave situations and their trauma has been compounded by the Administration's immoral policies. We condemn, in the strongest terms, the separation of families and demand that separated children be reunited with their families immediately.

We also oppose the long-term detention of the children of asylum seekers. The Administration's "solution" to removing children from their parents by locking entire families in detention while awaiting court hearings is unacceptable and un-American. We urge the Administration and Congress to work quickly to resolve this situation in a fair, humane, and compassionate manner. "
