The Allegheny County Health Department’s (ACHD) Air Quality Program faces a projected $1.8 million deficit. This raises serious concerns about the program’s ability to effectively monitor air quality and enforce regulations on polluters throughout the county. To address this funding gap, ACHD is proposing to increase permit fees for air pollution emissions. Increasing permit fees will prevent having to tap into the county’s taxpayer funded general fund or the Clean Air Fund which is dedicated to supporting community projects to improve air quality.

ACHD needs our help to support a fully funded Air Quality Program. Weigh in TODAY on their proposed fee increases.
