NJ Board Member

Peggy Middaugh has been an Environmental Justice Advocate for many decades. Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Council and later The Worcester Tree Initiative in Worcester, Massachusetts she hired youth to work on an urban farm, develop dozens of community gardens, and plant and maintain 30,000 trees; developed a citywide Climate Action Plan; and educated residents about toxic chemicals. She served on the Clean Water Action Alliance of Massachusetts Board and received their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. Since moving to New Jersey in 2016 she has served as Chair of the Manchester Environmental Commission, Chair of the Unitarian Universalist Faith Action Environmental Justice Task Force and Trustee of the New Jersey Tree Foundation. She holds a master’s degree in environmental science from Antioch New England University.
