As an environmentalist and a 22 year resident of Michigan, I want a Senator who will stand up for my state and make sure that our world renowned lakes, rivers, and streams stay pure for years to come. I know that Debbie Stabenow is the best person for the job. This November I’m standing with Stabenow, a clear leader in the fight to protect Michigan’s Great Lakes and natural resources. The Great Lakes are vital to Michigan’s economy and our way of life. They provide us with resources like fresh drinking water, industries, jobs, and beautiful shorelines and parks that enhance our quality of life. Debbie Stabenow makes protecting our lakes for future generations a top priority. I know how harmful oil pollution can be to our water and health (remember the Enbridge spill?). Senator Stabenow has led the fight to protect the Great Lakes from hazardous oil spills. The first bill that Stabenow passed into law as a U.S. Senator was a ban on oil and gas drilling in the Great Lakes, which was successfully made permanent in 2005. Her 2012 Farm Bill strengthened efforts that protect the Great Lakes to help restore fish and wildlife habitats, and clean up polluted waterways—supporting hunting, fishing, and other opportunities that help our economy, create jobs, and protect our health. This year’s election is pivotal in determining the future of Michigan’s water protections and it’s up to us to elect legislators that will ensure our Great Lakes stay clean. Our decisions now will affect every generation that follows in our footsteps. Senator Stabenow has consistently worked to conserve Michigan’s lakes, waterways, and lands, and if reelected will continue to fight to protect Michigan’s environment, not big oil profits. That’s why I support Debbie Stabenow and that’s why she deserves your vote on November 6th.Get the latest updates and actions:
