A Safe and Healthy Connecticut

Clean Water Action coordinates the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut, a diverse group united in efforts to reduce toxic chemicals in products that harm public health and our environment.  For more than ten years, we’ve led efforts in the state on toxic chemicals and passed landmark laws on BPA in baby bottles, infant formula containers, and other recyclable plastics, restricted cadmium in children’s jewelry, worked with state officials on state contracts that restrict toxic flame retardants in office furniture and school furniture and most recently passed a state ban on toxic PFAS chemicals in firefighting foam and food packaging.
