Protecting Drinking Water and Source Water in Western Massachusetts

Clean Water Action is gathering information about local threats to drinking water in Hampden and Hampshire counties in order to develop plans with local stakeholders to eliminate those threats.

Aging water infrastructure, industrial/agricultural activities, and waste disposal all lead to water contamination which can cause health problems. Clean Water Action is working on a long term project, funded by the Beveridge Family Foundation, to identify threats to source water and drinking water in Hampden and Hampshire counties and develop plans with local stakeholders to eliminate those threats. The first step is always hearing from the lived experiences of local community members.
