The snow has melted! Come join us for a fun cleanup on a fabulous spring morning in Michigan to kick off Earth Month! Clean Water Action Michigan and Plastic Oceans are teaming up again to continue our efforts of keeping Maheras-Gentry clean and safe for all to enjoy. One of the wonderful parks in Detroit that's adjacent to the Detroit River shoreline, we'll pick up litter to keep it from making its way into the river where it could make its way out to one of the Great Lakes.
We'll have all the necessary cleanup supplies and PPE for you to use! Just bring a water bottle for yourself and be ready to make some new friends and see old ones! Children are welcome to attend with adult supervision.
Location:
Maheras-Gentry Park is located in Detroit's Jefferson-Chalmers district, along the Detroit River and just south of the Bayview Yacht Club. Enter via Clairpoint or Connor Street and follow Algonquin Park Drive towards the river (south) until you reach the dead end. You'll see our flags and welcome table at the Habitat Island pavilion.
