Meg was born and raised in the Philippines. She is passionate about community organizing around environmental and other justice issues. She studied plastic biodegradation while doing her first master's degree in microbiology from the University of the Philippines. She moved to the US in 2014 for her second master's degree in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan. She completed this degree in 2016 and became the first Filipino to earn this degree where she studied community participation in mangrove forest management. She served as the Program Manager for the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at U of M for three years before joining Clean Water Action's Philadelphia Office as the Environmental Justice Organizer in November 2021. She currently manages the environmental justice programs including the Lead Hazard Awareness Program (LHAP) and the Green Stormwater Initiative.
