Michael Bochynski was born in Essen, Germany and grew up in the California Bay Area. He attended San Francisco State University where he majored in Urban Studies and Planning with a focus on sustainable development. Michael started working with Clean Water Action as a field canvasser at the San Francisco office in April 2012. He has worked as a Trainer, Field Manager, Assistant Canvass Director, and Virginia Program Organizer, assuming the role of Chesapeake Program Manager in December 2016. Since moving to Washington, DC in December 2013, Michael has focused on organizing and educating citizens and elected officials in Northern Virginia on local environmental issues such as stormwater management, sustainable development, green infrastructure and coal ash storage. Michael enjoys writing, music, maps, and exploring natural and urban environments.
