Connecticut, let's ban toxic PFAS chemicals in packaging and firefighting foam

Breaking news! Two of our top priority bills to restrict PFAS chemicals passed on May 14th UNANIMOUSLY in the Senate! The bills go along way to protecting public health and our environment.

Senate Bill 837 restricts PFAS chemicals in firefighting foam—a major source of contamination to water and the environment.  It requires the state to implement a take back program and shift to an effective fluorine free foam unless required by federal law.  Senate Bill 926 restricts PFAS chemicals in food packaging.

The bills were combined into one bill that now needs to pass the House by June 9th.  We’re in a strong position but need your help to get this over the finish line.

Take Action! Email your state Representative today and urge them to pass this common-sense bill that protects public health and our environment.
