Marissa joined Clean Water Action as the Massachusetts Development Associate in the fall of 2020. She is currently a graduate student at The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, earning dual Master’s Degrees in Sustainable International Development and Non-Profit Business Administration. Her studies emphasize the intersection of environmental conservation, racial justice, and food justice, with research focused on affordable housing and climate change adaptation.
Before returning to graduate school, Marissa explored a variety of fields, including youth work and business management. She is a former professional pastry chef and cafe manager, with a passion for delicious and sustainable desserts. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Sociology with a minor in Communications and concentrations in Gender Studies and Global Studies from Worcester State University in 2015.
Marissa is proud to call Worcester, Massachusetts home and in her spare time enjoys hiking, weightlifting, baking, knitting, and reading.
