Hisis Mabel Alcantara

Originally from Honduras, Mabel is currently living in the Bay Area and finishing her undergraduate degree in Global Studies with a minor in Justice Studies at San Jose State University. She graduated from Evergreen Valley College in 2020, earning her AA degree in paralegal studies. Speaking no English, she overcame numerous educational and employment barriers, acquired many skill sets, and began making her mark in her community through volunteering at Alianza for Youth Justice. She is motivated to learn and focus on environmental issues through her work in Sustainability and Environmental Justice. She is highly motivated and is dedicated to assisting and supporting her community as well as being a voice for those living in disparities.
