Michigan Polluter Pay Virtual Town Hall 4/30/20 6:30 PM

Join Clean Water Action, Sierra Club, State Senator Jeff Irwin and Representative Yousef Rabhi to discuss how we can protect our water and make polluters pay!

Michigan still does not require polluting corporations to pay for the cleanup of the messes they create. Faced with another economic recession, we must get critical protections in place to ensure that industrial contamination is cleaned up and disincentivized moving forward.

This crisis has highlighted the fact that universal access to water for drinking and bathing is essential to protecting public health. Currently, corporations are not even required to clean up contaminated aquifers unless they are currently in use for drinking water. We must restore polluter pay protections now to ensure that our water is being protected.

This townhall will be conducted over Zoom, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions as well. There is no cost to join, but please RSVP as space is limited. You will be sent a direct Zoom link by email before the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
