Stop SB 799

Maryland should focus on building a sustainable economy through waste reduction, re-use, refurbishment, recycling and composting.  This would save money, create local jobs and revenues, strengthen communities, make our economy more resilient and efficient, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save energy and material resources, reduce air, land and water pollution, and protect public health.  Instead, our legislators are considering a bill encourage municpalities to burn their trash. Help us stop it today!

Pesticides: Call Today!

Help us pass the Maryland Pesticide Reporting and Information Act (SB 675 and HB 775). The bill will create a simple, and cost-neutral, centralized online pesticide database in Maryland. Pesticide applicators, as well as sellers of restricted- use pesticides, already maintain this information – these bills simply require them to report that information so public health officials can determine how to protect communities from pesticides. There will be an important vote on this bill today or tomorrow so – Please Call your legislators today!

Pesticides: We Need More Information!

We are fighting to pass the Maryland Pesticide Reporting and Information Act (SB 675 and HB 775) and we need you! SB 675 and HB 775 will create a simple, and cost-neutral, centralized online pesticide reporting database in Maryland.  You can make sure the Act passes - e-mail your legislators today to urge them to take action.

We know that pesticides pose a serious risk to our health, to the Chesapeake Bay and local waterways, and to homeland security. But Maryland  public health and environmental experts lack the information needed about the sales and use of pesticides. This is critical information we need in order to protect our families and communities.
